SANS Excellence Awards


The Snowmobilers Association of Nova Scotia is pleased to present the Snowmobile Excellence Awards program to recognize exceptional contributions to organized snowmobiling in Nova Scotia.

The SANS Snowmobile Excellence Awards honours individuals, snowmobile clubs, associations and businesses in Nova Scotia who have made a significant contribution during the past year towards snowmobiling and snowmobiling safety. The awards also celebrate the efforts made by individuals who promote responsibility in their communities or who have offered exceptional quality of service to snowmobilers.


RULES & REGULATIONS

There are six categories of Snowmobile Excellence Awards.

The individual categories/applications and conditions are as follows:

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Dealership

The recipient of this award will be recognized for their exceptional customer and after-sales service, superior technical knowledge, effort to promote the sport and strong ties to their local snowmobile club. A Snowmobile dealership must be an accredited dealer for one of the four principal snowmobile manufacturers between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2010.

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Club 

The recipient of this award must be a member club of SANS, one that has distinguished themselves in the following areas: management, trail quality, safety, promotion and development and community outreach. A member club of SANS must have been affiliated with SANS during the previous year or current season.

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Groomer Operator

The Groomer Operator who receives this award must belong to a member club of SANS. They will have distinguished themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety promotion and development. The operator must be a SANS club member in good standing during the previous year or current season.

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobile Family

The family receiving this award must belong to a member club of SANS. They will have distinguished themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety promotion and development and community outreach. A snowmobiling family must have been members in good standing in a member club of SANS during the previous year or current season.

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Snowmobiler

The recipient of this award must belong to a member club of the SANS. Theywill have distinguished themselves in the following areas: volunteerism, leadership, safety promotion and community outreach. A snowmobiler nominated for an award must have purchased a trail pass and have been a SANS club member in good standing during the previous year or current season.

The SANS Excellence Award for Outstanding Youth

The recipient of this award must belong to a member club of the SANS. They will have distingusished thenmselves in the following areas: volunteerism, safety, promotion and community outreach.  A youth nominated for an award must be 18 years of age or younger. They must be a SANS club member in good standing during the previous year or current season. Judges comprised of a member of the EC committee, SANS GM and a third;
to be determined at SANS' discretion will vote for the recipients in each category.

Recipients will receive their awards at the Excellence Awards Banquet May 2010.
